T10 and T11 and Their Connection to Kidney Function

Continuing our review of the spinal column, today we'll be moving on down the line, er spine, to review T10 and T11 and their connection to overall health. (If you missed the previous newsletter on T8 and T9, you can find it here.)

The T10 and T11 vertebrae are part of your mid-back, which is critical for structural support and protecting your spinal cord. Nerves branching from this area primarily influence the health and function of the kidneys and the ureters (the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder).

In a broader sense, this region also plays a role in the function of the adrenal glands, which regulate stress and blood pressure, and contributes to the nerve supply of the lower abdomen and legs.

Symptoms of Misalignment (Subluxation)

When the T10 or T11 is misaligned, or "subluxated," it can irritate the exiting nerves, potentially disrupting communication to the related organs.

Common symptoms include:

  • Kidney-related issues, such as chronic fatigue or low back pain that may feel like a kidney ache.
  • Skin conditions like eczema, acne, or boils.
  • Aches or numbness radiating into the lower back and legs.
  • More general issues like chronic tiredness or arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).

My goal is to gently restore proper alignment to relieve this nerve pressure and support your body's natural healing.

Stay well adjusted,

Dr. Dan Kammer
