Not too long ago I was talking with a patient, playing a little catch up, and he asked me about my health. I was glad to report to him that things were going pretty well. He then followed that question with the age-old, “How’s your love life?” I told him that I had met someone. I proceeded to tell him all about her. He said, “Doc, how come this is the first I’ve heard about her?” I said, “I don’t know, you know how I am, I mostly just keep my personal life to myself.”
Well, to that end, let me announce that me and that beautiful lady are engaged. We have not set a date, but when we do I will be sure to make sure you all know.
Her name is Shaun Vares and you may have met her at the office over the last few months. I would like to tell her that I appreciate all that she has done for me, personally and professionally. We have been together for several years now. She has a gift of knowing what I need. She is funny and full of life. She nursed me back to health after my surgery last year. She raises me up when I’m down. She is resilient and gives me the courage to help me fight back against my health issues. She is kind and caring. She is a wonderful travel companion and I have really enjoyed the trips we have taken over the last year. Beyond that, she can repair or assemble almost anything. So if you see something in this office that looks new or repaired, she did it. And if you see a ring on my finger, it’s to signify that I am engaged.
So, allow me to say it publicly… Shaun, thank you so much for all that you have done for me and I look forward to many more years together.

Stay well adjusted,
Dr. Dan Kammer
