If you’ve had x-rays or an MRI of your spine you may have seen or heard the words Degenerative Disc Disease or Degenerative Joint Disease used to describe the visible issues. This is a bit misleading in that the word Disease implies an infectious entity or a physiological malfunction. The word Disease also implies that there is a cure.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for spinal degeneration. If degeneration is symptomatic, (often it is not!) then management over time is the only realistically effective treatment. Certainly, some medications can provide some relief, or even improvement, for some people. Mostly, spinal degeneration must be treated in the physical realm. Purely structural problems don’t generally respond favorably to chemical (drugs) solutions. Make sense?
There are no silver bullets when it comes to spinal degeneration, but people under chiropractic care manage their condition much more effectively than those who are not. Beyond that, chiropractic patients like you are invariably way more active and engaged with living than the average person. Use It or Lose It is true! Eat right, keep moving, stay strong and see your chiropractor.
I am thankful for the many, many wonderful people that make this clinic special to me. I appreciate being part of such a lovely community. Thank you.
Stay well adjusted,
Dr. Dan Kammer
