Thoughts on a COVID-19 Vaccine

I have the nicest patients anyone could ask for and thank you to those who offered assistance after Sally crawled over us. I’m hoping 2020 will smooth out for all of us. A lot of you have suffered the ramifications of Sally and the pandemic. We can clean up after a storm but we’ll be dealing with COVID-19 for a while.

What we will all be facing is the possibility of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.  At some point, you will have a decision to make. History has not been kind to rapidly developed vaccines. No one has even tried to develop and test and manufacture and distribute millions of vaccines in this short of a span.

It would be truly wonderful if a vaccine for COVID-19 was highly effective, and safe.  I have unofficially surveyed quite a few patients and the consensus was, “I don’t think I’d get one right away.”  As for me, it’s football season and I’m going to stay on the sidelines for a while, too.

Also, it is important you know there will be a modest fee increase which will begin on November 2. This will be our first increase in nearly two years.  And in January, I will be expanding my morning hours and shifting my afternoon hours a bit.

I will continue to assist you as best I can.  I’m here when you need me.

Stay well adjusted,

Dr. Dan Kammer
